I've recently started an experimental commercial-free
live MP3 "radio" stream at 32 kbps. I've been rotating a couple of programs:
- Music of me, friends & family
- Music of Charlie Parker (includes rare tracks from vinyl)
- Music of Thelonious Monk
- Music of Ornette Coleman
- Music of Lee Konitz & comrades
- Music of neo-big-bands

So far, I've had the most luck using iTunes (free download)
as a music player program for playing internet radio.
In order to get this to work, you might need
to download the previous link to your computer locally (on Windows it's right-click
then "Save target as..." --- on a Mac it's ctrl-click to save the file, then drag the file
into your iTunes library).
